Kavanar Latex Ltd. is a Joint Venture
of the Indian Rubber Board (Ministry of Commerce and Industry,
Government of India) and the rubber growers organizations
in the largest rubber growing tract in India. The Company
is located at Kottayam in the state of Kerala in India. Kottayam
is known for the highest productivity of rubber per hectare
in the whole world and it is the heartland of rubber in India.
The Indian Rubber Board holds 51% of shares in the Company.
Remaining shares are owned by the large number of innovative
rubber growers in Kottayam. We manufacture different grades
of Technically Specified Rubber (TSR), known also as SMR,
SIR, STR etc in other rubber producing countries. TSR is known
in India as Indian Standard Natural Rubber (ISNR). We also
process all grades of Ribbed Smoked Sheet (RSS) through the
Rubber Producers Societies (RPSs) formed by our share holder
rubber growers. Our sister concern produces Centrifuged Latex
Concentrates.
Kavanar Latex was founded in 1990 with trading activities
and the factory started production in 1993. Ours is one of
the largest TSR factory in India employing state of the art
technology. The Company has a full fledged lab in its factory
with all modern equipments including the Wallace Plastimeter.
We are approved by the Bureau of Indian Standards and our
products are ISI marked. We have been granted ISO 9001-2000
certification by the internationally acclaimed London based
accreditation agency UKAS. Kavanar Latex enjoys its own brand
reputation among our elite clientele like M/s Goodyear India
Ltd, Apollo Tyres Ltd etc.
Kavanar Latex Ltd has a large estate inputs distribution wing
catering to the needs of the large number of rubber growers
in Kerala.
The Company has been exporting Natural Rubber (NR) for the
last two years. Now we are one of the prominent exporters
of NR in India. We export different grades of RSS and TSR
to countries like Spain, Russia, Syria, China, Malaysia and
Nepal. The Company is exploring other potential international
markets also.
